Montgomery Zoo

Located in Montgomery, Alabama, the Montgomery Zoo offers an array of exhibits and activities that are sure to delight both children and adults. This 40-acre zoo features more than 1,500 animals representing more than 200 species in a variety of habitats, including the lakeside African Pavilion, Asian Highlands exhibit and North American Wilds area. More than one-third of these animals are endangered or threatened due to habitat loss or other factors.

The Montgomery Zoo is open daily 9am – 4pm. The last admission tickets are sold at 4pm daily. Major animal exhibits begin closing at 4:30pm daily. Ticket prices are adults (13 years old or older) $18, children (3 – 12 years of age) $14, toddlers (2 years old or younger) FREE, and seniors (65 years old or older) $16.

Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts

The Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts is a great place to spend an afternoon with the family. It’s free admission and has an impressive permanent collection of art, including many pieces by well-known artists such as William H. Johnson and Nellie Mae Rowe. The museum also hosts rotating exhibits that are always interesting and engaging.
